When Everyone Leaves, We Go to the Sea
We go to the sea not because it is quiet. At this time, it offers not rest but space—for work and for precise conversations. That is exactly what we need. Yes, this is a work trip. In Forte dei Marmi we have a scheduled meeting with another villa care agency—not our first such meeting in Tuscany. The contact was set in advance, agreements outlined, materials prepared. This is not a spontaneous drive. It is a working point.
We use this period to take a breath and gently align the next steps through conversations, meetings, and calm calibration.
Working Details and Human Nuances
As the process unfolds, nuances emerge that cannot be planned from a distance. We were promised an introduction to one of the region’s top agencies. We brought English-language brochures and presentation materials—and during the conversation it becomes clear that the agency works primarily with a Russian-speaking clientele, a market we know well and have long experience with.
The conversation is calm but direct. They listen. There is interest. And the question comes immediately:
“How should we introduce you properly?”
In the English materials—Archie & Mira.
Here—Arkadi and Mira.
Russian market. Russian clients. Russian tone.
At that moment it becomes clear that the task is not to “enter” the Russian-speaking market, but to be ready for both markets at once and to have the appropriate versions of materials at hand. This is not about a problem; it is about calibration: Russian-language materials, correct names, the right tone of communication. Not about creating something new, but about choosing the correct version at the right moment—English or Russian—depending on the context of the meeting. Especially since the agency admits they had been searching for a pair like us for months this season.
Connections and Coincidences
During these days we also cross paths with friends and professional contacts, where conversations naturally move from personal to work-related. These meetings do not require grand statements. They simply continue over time and often grow into collaboration.
After the Work Is Done
Having completed what mattered, we allow ourselves to continue on—to Portofino. Without haste now, but still with professional attention. Surprisingly, even off-season the weather allows for swimming. For northerners and Russians—more than acceptable. A few days of sea, sun, and a pause that finally becomes possible after an intense, full season.
Calibrating the System
The sea after the season is not only about contemplation. It is a moment when the system adjusts almost invisibly, from within. We test how to distribute time between the north and Tuscany. It becomes increasingly clear: in the future, two bases will be necessary. This is how the market works here. Demand is high, rhythm is dense, and presence must be continuous.
We leave not with a sense of closure, but with a quiet feeling of readiness. Contacts are noted. Mistakes understood. Next steps defined.
After the season, the sea does not lull you to sleep. It gathers you.
